Specialized K9 Detection for Northern Communities
Creegonquin GP Inc., operating as Creegonquin K9 & Security, is an Indigenous-owned company serving First Nation communities and organizations across Northern Ontario.
Our primary focus is professional K9 drug and alcohol detection in northern and remote environments. We understand the realities of community airports, winter roads, changing weather, limited infrastructure and operations that require close coordination with local leadership and security personnel.
Our approach is respectful, organized and prevention-focused. Creegonquin handlers detect and report. When a K9 indicates the possible presence of a trained substance, the handler follows company procedures and reports the concern to the designated community, site or police authority.
Creegonquin K9 handlers do not perform police duties.

K9 Detection Services
Creegonquin works with each community or organization to establish an approved scope of work, controlled screening area, communication plan and local support requirements before deployment.
Airport & Baggage Screening
Professional K9 screening support for community airports, incoming flights, baggage, cargo and approved passenger-screening areas. Services may include: incoming baggage screening, cargo and parcel screening, controlled passenger-screening support when authorized, coordination with airport staff, local security and police services, and screening during periods of increased community concern.
Winter Roads & Community Checkpoints
K9 detection services at winter roads, checkpoints and controlled community entry points. Services may include: vehicle screening, baggage and cargo screening, temporary or scheduled checkpoint operations, worksite and contractor access screening, and coordination with community Peace Keepers and security personnel.
Community Facility & Controlled-Area Sweeps
Detection sweeps in approved community facilities, workplaces and other controlled environments. Services may include: building and room sweeps, workplace screening, vehicle searches, storage and delivery areas, and other approved locations identified by community leadership.
Events, Festivals & Community Entry Points
K9 and security support during community events, festivals, busy travel periods and public gatherings. Services may include: controlled event-entry screening, baggage and item screening, temporary checkpoints, boat dock and transportation arrival areas, and coordination with event staff and local security.
Community Demonstrations & Awareness
Professional K9 demonstrations for youth, community members, leadership and local organizations. Demonstrations help people understand how detection dogs work, the difference between detection and police enforcement, safety around working dogs, the importance of prevention and community cooperation, and careers involving K9 handling and community security.
A Safe and Organized Approach
Every deployment is planned with the community or organization before screening begins. Clear roles, proper site preparation and local coordination help protect the public, site personnel, handlers and K9s.
Discuss the Need
Creegonquin meets with the community or organization to identify the location, concern, proposed dates, screening type and people involved.
Confirm the Scope
The parties agree on what Creegonquin is being asked to screen, where the operation will take place and who has authority to make decisions.
Prepare the Site
The community or organization prepares a controlled screening area, assigns local security support and confirms emergency and communication procedures.
Conduct Screening
The handler maintains control of the K9 and conducts detection work according to company procedures and site conditions.
Observe, Report & Document
Any K9 indication or operational concern is documented and reported to the designated authority. Police may be contacted when required.
Community Coordination Is Essential
Creegonquin works alongside community leadership, Peace Keepers, local security personnel, airport staff, site supervisors and police services when required.

- Supporting communication with community members
- Responding when a K9 indication is reported

Meet Radar & Ace
Radar and Ace are professionally trained detection dogs. They are detection animals, not attack or patrol dogs. During an operation, members of the public must follow the handler's instructions and give the K9 team room to work.
Radar — Belgian Malinois
Radar is trained to detect multiple narcotic odours. He is experienced in controlled screening environments and remains focused and calm while working around the public.
Ace — German Shepherd
Ace is trained for drug and alcohol detection and is experienced in vehicle, baggage and facility searches. He supports communities and organizations during organized screening operations.

Owner — A member of Attawapiskat First Nation, Betty Sue is committed to providing respectful and practical services that respond to the needs of First Nation communities.
Randy Pesendiwatch (Cota)
Co-Owner, Director of Operations & K9 Handler — A retired Ontario Provincial Police Sergeant with more than 30 years of experience in drug enforcement and community policing across Northern Ontario. Randy leads Creegonquin's K9 operations, deployment planning and handler training.

Careers & Expressions of Interest
Work With Creegonquin K9 & Security
Creegonquin accepts expressions of interest from dependable people interested in K9 detection and security guard work in Northern Ontario. Candidates must hold a valid Ontario Security Guard Licence or be willing and able to obtain one.
Assignments may require travel to remote First Nation communities, extended periods away from home and work during days, nights, weekends or holidays. Work is assignment-based. Hours, locations and future assignments are not guaranteed.
K9 handler training may be provided to selected candidates. First Nations applicants are encouraged to apply.

Assignment-Based Security
We welcome expressions of interest from licensed security guards and people willing and able to obtain an Ontario Security Guard Licence. Assignments are based in remote northern communities and require professionalism and reliability.
